This week’s Apex Mezzanine project in Sumner delivered a strong, efficient upgrade tailored to the client’s operational needs of requiring an office.
Spanning 36m², the mezzanine was designed for a 5kPa general load capacity and constructed with 21mm plywood flooring for durability and performance. Access was provided via a staircase featuring 1000mm checkerplate treads, built in accordance with AS1428 standards.
A standout feature of this project was the inclusion of a single 9-metre engineered beam, manufactured specifically to support a cantilevered section within the design—maximising usable space without compromising structural integrity.
The project included full engineering certification (Form 15), with an approximate four-week lead time from order placement, the build was completed on schedule.
Installation was finalised in just two days using two scissor lifts and a forklift, with the team maintaining a clean, safe, and organised site throughout.
The next stage of this project is the office fit out.
