Apex Mezzanines recently completed the design, supply, and installation of a 60-square-metre mezzanine floor for a commercial warehouse facility in Arundel, delivering a practical and cost-effective solution to increase usable floor space within the existing building footprint.
The mezzanine was engineered to support a 3kPa light industrial load rating and constructed using 21mm structural plywood flooring. The project included full engineering certification with the provision of a Form 15 upon completion.
A unique aspect of this installation was the existing Mezzanine layout, which featured a finished floor level approximately 900mm higher than new mezzanine floor. To provide safe and efficient access between the two levels, our team designed and manufactured a custom five-riser staircase, creating a seamless transition and ensuring functionality within the client’s operational environment.
The mezzanine was also fitted with a 1000mm wide staircase incorporating aluminium treads suitable for non-habitable applications in accordance with NCC requirements. Handrails and sliding gates were not required as part of the project scope as the client is building it in for office space..
From order placement to completion, the project progressed through our standard four-week lead time, with all engineering, equipment hire, and waste removal services included. Installation was completed in just two days using two scissor lifts and a forklift, allowing the structure to be erected efficiently and with minimal disruption to the client’s operations.
