A local business in Burleigh on the Gold Coast recently expanded their usable space with a 62 square metre structural storage mezzanine. Following a four-week lead time, the structure was installed over two and a half days using two scissor lifts and a forklift.
The new structure sits adjacent to an existing mezzanine floor that was slightly lower in height. To join the two areas, we integrated a custom single step into the design, allowing safe and easy transition between levels while utilizing the site’s existing staircase.
Engineered specifically for heavy-duty storage, the platform features a 5 kPa load rating and durable 21mm plywood flooring sheets. Safety and functional access are handled by an NCC-compliant non-habitable handrail with a single top and mid rail, alongside an 1800mm clearance sliding gate for efficient loading. The completed structure is fully certified and includes a Form 15 Engineering Certificate.
