We love projects that maximise the usable space in domestic sheds, and we were out at Wongawallan this week working on a 70-square-metre mezzanine floor designed to create a huge amount of additional storage space without taking up valuable floor area below.
This mezzanine was built for storage use and engineered to a 3kPa load rating. The floor was constructed using 21mm plywood flooring sheets and featured a 1000mm wide staircase designed for non-habitable storage access, complete with open risers and single top and mid rails.
To finish the project off, we installed a black powder coated balustrade and a sliding gate, providing safe and practical access to the new storage area.
From order placement to installation, the project moved through our standard 3–4 week lead time. Once on site, our crew completed the installation over 2.5 days using two scissor lifts and a forklift to efficiently assemble the structure.
Engineering for the mezzanine structure was included, with a Form 15 provided.
It’s always rewarding to see the transformation these projects create. What was once unused air space within the shed is now substantial storage that will help the owners keep their shed organised and functional for years to come.
