When floor space gets tight, going vertical is the ultimate solution. We recently completed a custom 24m² mezzanine extension in Coolum Beach, creating a seamless connection to an existing upper level. By precision-butting up to the current structure and utilizing the original staircase, we expanded overhead capacity without sacrificing ground-level access.
Engineered to handle a 3kPa storage load, the extension features durable 21mm plywood flooring and Form 15 structural certification. For the safety balustrade, we re-utilized 4.2 meters of the existing handrail and fabricated a filling piece to complete the 5.4-meter run, matching the original style seamlessly. This was undertaken via a complete site survey and level assessment to ensure it was spot on.
Following a four-week lead time, our team completed the supply and installation in just one day using two scissor lifts and a forklift. As we packed up, the next phase was already underway—an integrated office fit-out right underneath the new floor to maximize every inch of the warehouse.
