Project Information
This recent job in Yarrabilba required an extension of an existing Mezzanine floor. The client wanted to be able to access the Mezzanine from the upstairs office and incorporate the existing stair case also.
We provided a solution that seamlessly added the extra space, as well as a sliding gate for easy fork loading from the front of the warehouse.
We matched the floor heights perfectly by fixing our joists to the existing structure with a Purlin receiving channel set 21mm below the existing floor.
The end joist was fixed to the top panel and we worked around the down pipe on the back wall.
The existing handrail was adjusted and cut off on site to make room for new handrail, allowing us to incorporate what was already there. The handrail to exposed edges was designed to AS1657-2018.
We used 21mm Plywood flooring, and the mezzanine extension was 3 kPa light industrial. We provided the Engineering certificate form 15 for the entire structure, including what was existing.
The installation was completed in a day, with the use of two scissor lifts and a fork lift and lead time from acceptance of final design to supply was 4 weeks.
